Last Sunday, at Yuyintang:
Local black metal outfit 墓志铭 were easily favorites of the night. I’ve seen them before, donning corpse paint, which they skipped wearing that night. The great thing was, despite that, and the lack of a moshpit that was replaced by some annoying tourists who just didn’t get it, I appreciated the band so much more with this repeat viewing. I really don’t keep up with a list of Shanghai bands to watch and listen to, but one slot is now surely guaranteed.
The rest of the night were filled with post-hardcore acts. Six Shot was the second favorite, pounding hard and slow throughout their set. EN ROUTE and Hidden Agenda were put up good set as well, while gig opener A Tack In Your Shoes fell into the Katy Perry cover mediocrity pit I’ve seen some bands before do over here.
On a photography note, yeah, I did only fancy one angle for the other bands. I do like that angle though, but maybe I should entertain the idea of an indefinite hiatus to active live show shooting. We’ll see.
