cheap and satisfied

i found myself at the Uniwide Warehouse Club right after a tapa meal at Jollibee over at Crossing-Edsa. m and i went there before to shop for her inaanaks. items i took interest were: folding beds and chairs (300+p, 89p, respectively), sunglasses (9-20p), and ‘street chalk’. didnt buy anything though, but its a shopping place i will definitely propose to my future apartment co-dwellers.

next, i got a little confused when the tricycle driver dropped me off at HMR, in a different location. he said the old one still exists at the old building, but the HMR attendants say its closed already. anyway, the new building was significantly smaller, and didnt have the warehouse feel anymore of the old place. one would appreciate the improved organization of the items, and the clean-feel the light-colored painted walls give off. i didnt like the new vibe very much, and the 29p chinese cameras where nowhere to be found. item of interest: 129p welder’s mask. uh, yeah.

tv commercials work. the coke float at McDo was all ice, dammit.

handful of updates

mood: an immense laziness to blog and work.

was supposed to: leave early to look for polaroid film, but then, edited instead the cookbook my dad has been typing for mom. got to minimize black in use on the printer. and even before i stepped out of the house, i had the quick inspiration to do a mirror portrait -brother just installed a mirror in my room- with the 2-months-dormant-in-the-post-office-f*ck-em Lomo Smena Symbol. poof, the flash wont work. the flash does work though for the other cameras, so that means this specific camera’s hotshoe aint so hot after all.

and this morning: i lost a really cheap bid (stayed at $1 til the last hour) on a russian lightmeter. dang.

in apartment news: doing great. we’re eyeing this new, studio-type apartment a short bus ride away from the office. too bad we havent really been in the apartment, since the caretaker wasnt around when we went there.

know your post office

i’ve been mildly chatty with our local post office personnel, since ive been receiving packages rather frequently for the past months. but today, they just delivered a package that was supposed to arrive sometime very late last year, or very early this year. good for them that: 1) they delivered the package, instead of giving me a notice to pick it up (the proper procedure); 2) and, i was asleep when the mailman arrived; yes, i would’ve shown him furious, eBay-related anger. not his fault personally, but its his departments neglect that took this package 2 months to get me, while it was just in their freaking office all the time.

i should NOT be finding myself ordering/bidding on anything online from now on. have to find time instead to actually use these toys.

concrete travel

Nakatikim ka na ba ng kinse años?
-slogan for a billboard on Napoleon Kinse Brandy

and the taxi i rode on to work was playing obscure, and really old synth-driven new wave songs.

the job interview with another call center went off clean, except that they required one-year experience management experience for the position im applying for.

then i get some feedback from our operations team manager that they’d need people for the position i want, since a lot of people there are resigning.

oh crap.

grabbed myself a bundle of blank cdrs and a CD wallet, with a 200-cd capacity before going back to the office. this will be a long work-night.
