Takashi Miike, director of Odishon, and Ichi The Killer, (I’ve seen both: MUST NOT MISS), is directing his first English-language film, with a very impressive cast. Do I hear the Quiapo peddlers calling for their former semi-suki now?

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Robert Altman, the caustic and irreverent satirist behind “M-A-S-H,” “Nashville” and “The Player” who made a career out of bucking Hollywood, has died at 81 [source/via]. I only have his film Short Cuts on DVD, though.
