On Kung Mangarap Ka’t Magising

Mike de Leon moviefests are regular events over at Cinemaone. I haven’t been in a complimentary state to watch entire films these days, but I’ve decided to wait for Kung Mangarap Ka’t Magising, which was one of de Leon’s early, and more popular films I haven’t seen.

The film was an ideal mood-setter, an easily consumed, controlled, and non-ostentatious love story set and made in Baguio, on the year I was born (1977). It was lovingly framed cinema, that easily re-kindled my belief in the Filipino filmmaker, but had me long for how good the 70s-80s pelikula‘s usually were.
