Some of Local TV’s Highlights This Week

Probably not what everyone would consider highlights, though:

  • Studio 23’s Lunch Box Office has shown a lot of Brocka films this week, and today’s offering was Eddie Romero’s Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo Ngayon. See Gloria Diaz in a very delectable phase. Hard to think that the kid in the movie, former teenstar Dranreb Belleza, grew up to be so freaky.
  • Just saw the Darna (GMA 7) teaser for tonight’s episode. Must, must, must-see: Angel Locsin in a wet t-shirt 😈

UPDATE [5:15]: Just finished Mike de Leon’s Kisapmata again for the nth time on Cinemaone. Still, there is nothing wrong that can be done with perfect casting (only 14 actors are credited, including minor ones), and excellent filmmaking. No effing redeeming conclusions, too. I’d still concede, this is the best local film ever done.

Now, if only I could get my hands on those Lav Diaz’s 8-10 hour long works.
